Images should be catalog-ready and high-resolution (at least 5 inches wide (1500px), and at least 300dpi). Images of 2d work should be cropped as close to the edge of the image as possible. Images of 3d work should be taken with a white or neutral background. Images must be saved as a standard .jpg, .png, or .tif image. PLEASE NO .IMG, HEIF, .PAGES, OR HEVC IMAGES (apple devices). Images should be sent with entry form. If your image is too large to send in standard email (typically above 20MB), please use wetransfer.com (jacklesieur@jerryebakerfoundation.org) to send your images.
To apply, all entrants must be 18+ years old, live in the state of Kentucky, or are enrolled in a Kentucky state school. Art previously shown in any Downing Museum exhibition is not allowed. Art that has won any kind of award in any ArtWorks, Inc. juried exhibition will not be allowed. One piece of work may be submitted for consideration and must be original and completed within the last two years. Greenware, utilitarian kits and over the counter craft items are not eligible. No “Sip and Paint” themed art accepted. All works created from natural materials must be stable, well- seasoned and insect free.
All works of art must be presented in a professional manner. Wire hangers or wall-mounted cleats ONLY. Plexiglass is strongly recommended for works larger than 24 inches.
Maximum size for 2D work is 50” horizontal and 100” vertical - plus framing material. All 3D work must be stable, at or under 36”x36” base, no more than 10’ tall, and not weigh more than 100 pounds. Artists submitting works weighing more than 50 pounds must be on call to help with placement. No video art accepted.
